DASH:Gen

Comparison

DASH:Gen and Anomaly AI: a dashboard you own, or a report you rent

Both start from your data and a question in plain words. One keeps the analysis on its platform; the other hands you a file for your own tool.

Anomaly AI describes itself as an AI data analyst on its own platform: you connect a source or upload a file, ask questions, and get analyses, dashboards and reports there. DASH:Gen takes one upload and a sentence and gives back a file you open in your own tool. The two overlap only in the first minute.

When Anomaly AI is the better choice

When the data lives in a warehouse or an analytics account and should be read where it is. When the same report has to arrive every week without anybody uploading anything. When the result is a slide deck or a PDF for people who will never open a dashboard. None of that is what DASH:Gen does.

When DASH:Gen is the better choice

When the dashboard has to end up in a tool you already run: a Power BI project that opens in the free Desktop, or an Apache Superset bundle you import into your own instance, where a dataset export carries no rows at all. When the recipient has no account anywhere and should get one HTML file that works offline. And when you want to try it before anyone asks for a card: three HTML dashboards a day need no account.

What reaches the language model

Your rows never do. The model receives the column names and types, statistics per column, up to five sample values per column and your sentence. Which provider that is, and where it runs, is in the privacy notice, section 8.

Questions

Is DASH:Gen an alternative to Anomaly AI?

For turning a file into a dashboard, yes. For a hosted analyst that reads live sources and emails a report every week, no: DASH:Gen has no connectors and no schedule.

Does DASH:Gen or Anomaly AI keep my data on my own systems?

With an Apache Superset bundle built from a dataset export, no rows leave your systems at all. Otherwise both need your data uploaded; DASH:Gen keeps an upload for seven days and sends the language model only column names, types, statistics and a few sample values.

Can I use DASH:Gen and Anomaly AI together?

Yes. They answer different questions: a hosted analyst for ongoing monitoring, a generated file when a dashboard has to live in Power BI, Apache Superset or an e-mail attachment.
