When you export a dashboard from Apache Superset, it writes a ZIP of YAML files: the database connection, the dataset with its columns and metrics, one file per chart, and the dashboard with its layout. Importing that ZIP into another Superset recreates the whole dashboard, pointed at the database the connection names. Passwords are never part of it; Superset asks for them during the import.
Because it is Superset's own format, importing one needs no API token and no plugin: it is the ordinary Import dashboard of the Dashboards page.
Where it appears in DASH:Gen
An Apache Superset run produces this ZIP for Superset version 6. Started from a dataset export, the connection travels in the bundle unchanged and no rows are uploaded. The Superset guide shows the steps, and the German guide covers the import.
